Your Single Most Important Thought.

Your Single Most Important Thought.

Jesus Christ is the express image of God, that means He is the image and likeness of God, the writer of Hebrews says He is the radiance of God’s glory, the exact representation of God’s being.

We were made in the image and likeness of God.
That means that Jesus Christ is exactly who and what God has made us, as he is so are we in this world. That’s why we are said to be IN HIM, which means we are existing in who and what Jesus Christ is, Jesus Christ is our true self and identity.

I was sharing yesterday on Facebook Live that nobody can look directly at his own face with his own eyes, that every image of ourselves we have is by the help of some reflective surface like a mirror, or some means of recording like a picture or video.

In the same line, Jesus Christ is the image of ourselves which we see when we look into the word of God. That is why we are commanded to fix our eyes on Jesus. Fix your mind on the word of God, keep your words in consonance with the word of God, walk(engage life) as Jesus did, with the same mindset, attitude, and bold authority, because you are exactly the same.

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:6 NIV

As I was saying yesterday, the single most important thought you will ever have is Jesus Christ, because then you have the perfect self image of yourself, your true and best self.
Remember that the bible says we are transformed by the renewing of our mind(thoughts). So as you learn Jesus through the word of God, your thoughts match your perfect self, and you are being so transformed into your perfect self, the you that God made.

And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:18 NIV

Here is the action point of this post; meditate the word of God knowing that it shows everything about you, meditate on Jesus.

…he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Do you believe that God exists? Do you really believe that He is? There are two fundamental heart settings that everyone who journeys toward God must have. First, that person must be absolutely convinced that God exists, that He is. The more we are awakened spiritually the more we realise the depth of that simple matter of being completely convinced that God exists.

If you search through the scriptures you will find out that the men and women who have done exploits and performed extraordinary feats in the pages of scriptures have always had that unshakable conviction that God is. God is my refuge, God is my salvation, God is a strong tower, God is ever present, God is, God is and God is. You see, it goes beyond the certainty that He exists. It is a total trust in the sufficiency of God for all things, one that is informed by the revelation knowledge that God is everything. For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen. (Romans 11:36 NKJV)

Get this right. God will not give you victory. He is your victory. God will not make you succeed. He is your success. God will not heal your body. He is your health. Do you understand this? Please meditate on this till it shines like a bright light in your soul. You will know the truth and the truth shall set you free. You do not need to seek many things like a lot of people do. They seek wealth, healing, ideas, favour, you name it. They are much like Martha the sister of Lazarus, concerned about many things. Remember what Jesus said to her, “you are worried about so many things, but only one thing is needful…”

What is that one singular thing that is needful? That was what her sister, Mary chose, to sit at the feet of Jesus and listen to His words. Why is this the one thing that matter? Because Jesus will show you “what God is” and then you will know that He is. So, I ask you, do you really believe that God is? Whatever it is you want, it is not far fetched if you can see that God is. Consult your bible and meditate on this.

Let us remind ourselves of the few things we have mentioned in the course of our discussion on the mystery of godliness. We talked about the partnership between the Father, the Word and the Spirit. Concerning that we mentioned how the Father wills a thing, how the Father voices His intent through the Word and how the Spirit incubates the Word till it hatches into reality.

Then we found out from the scriptures that this partnership between the Father, the Word and the Spirit produced man, that we were made to a very particular specification; the image of God. So we know that we were created to be all that God is, have all that He has and do all that He does within the earth. We know this because He says we are made in His image and likeness, that we are gods and that we can do on earth what He does in heaven. Thy will be done on earth as it is done in heaven, since God has given the earth to the sons of men.

We did speak about the way a spiritual man gets physical results here on earth. We said he must first of all find out what the will of God is concerning what he wants to accomplish, then when he has found it he must make that will his own. By that he lets heaven know that earth is in agreement with God concerning that issue. Then he must go ahead and voice that will. He must pronounce it upon the earth. That means that the man must verbally announce Gods will, which he by faith has made his own.

We then began to talk about the right words and the proper way to announce Gods will on earth. That it must be done with words taught by Gods wisdom not words taught by mans wisdom, meaning that we must use words of faith that have been inspired by the word of God, instead of saying words that were born out of natural observation. It was from here on we began to lay a very necessary foundation, one that sounded like warnings.

Now, having laid that foundation, having made it clear that we must deny ourself and look to Christ in all our dealings in this matter, let us proceed. The issues we shall begin to visit from our next discussion are very practical things. These are things you can practice and get results. We shall do our best to lay them out in such a way that they will be very clear, so that we may read and run with them. It is time for us to begin to ask: “what shall we do for God?” and stop asking “what shall God do for us?” We shall not remain children of God forever. We must grow from children to sons, and then to fathers. The creation will not wait endlessly for the manifestation of the sons of God. Now is the time; your time.

“Suppose someone wants to build a tower. Won’t he sit down first and figure out how much it will cost? Then he will see whether he has enough money to finish it. Suppose he starts building and is not able to finish. Then everyone who sees what he has done will laugh at him. They will say, `This fellow started to build. But he wasn’t able to finish. …Luke 14:28-29 NIrV

The first thing to do about any thing in life is not what you do to the thing but what you do to yourself. To successfully handle any issue in life, the solution must begin from you. The water that fills the ocean does not come from the ocean, it comes from outside the ocean; from the source. God is “the source” in all creation, and being His incarnation, we are the conduits for divinity here on the earth. The practice of starting your attempt to change something on earth from yourself is essentially about assuming the “God-position” in the face of that thing you want to change.

To do this you must count the cost. You must determine that you have what it takes to take that position and maintain that stand till you get the results that the will of God has declared. So, here are a few basic things you need to make sure you have in place before you proceed with this.

First of all you must own a bible and commit to reading it daily. Secondly, you must have a set time(a particular time period) when you pray. Third, you must be sure that you want the expected result so bad that you will not stop till you get it. Fourth, you must promise yourself that you will not discuss the result you are expecting with anybody that may think you should “be realistic”, especially those you love and those that love you.

These may seem too simple, believe me, appearances may be deceiving. Anyway, we will find out how important these are in the course of our journey. One last but very important thing; find an issue you want to apply this thing to. We must be doers and not hearers only. So, find something to practice this on as we go along. You will see how easy it is, and your faith will be built up too as you witness the result of your godly excercise. I don’t want this to be just another church lecture in your life. It is not. This is the path of real power and authority we are walking. So let’s walk it together for real.

The entrance into godliness is death. Please remember that godliness is not just about being characterised by uprightness and love in the way you think, speak and act. To be godly is to be God-like in every way. Of course to understand what God is like we must look to Christ. To get to God, one must go through Christ. He is the way, the truth and the life. That state in which a person begins to think like God, speak for God, act God and become practically aware of his/her “God-likeness” is only possible through Christ.

So, if you are looking for a door, a pathway, a process or whatever word you choose to describe a system of ideas, theories and practices that collectively produce a definite result, the result in this case being the entrance into a reality where you can legally put on God’s shoes, effectively act on God’s behalf on earth, with the full authority and power of God at your disposal for the THINGS THAT ARE OF INTEREST TO GOD and WITHIN YOUR “EARTH SPACE”, to find such a “how-to” you should look at Christ.

If you are looking for the knowledge on which the origin and essence of all existence is built, the source code of reality, the building blocks of life, knowledge that has been stripped of every misleading, misrepresented, and refutable fact, the very understanding you need to manipulate creation and reality, otherwise referred to as the truth, then you should look in Christ. Or maybe you want to discover a way one can live, a particular lifestyle, a way to conduct ones daily life in other to transcend into oneness with God, then study Christ.

The words in capital letters are very important. You cannot act on God’s behalf in matters of which He disapproves. And you cannot interfere in matters that you do not have direct relationship with. You can’t play God in other people’s lives. You must be “invited in” or the matter must directly concern you. Jesus could not do many miracles in His home town because their unbelief rejected Him. Jesus would always ask those He encountered, “what do you want me to do for you?” Their answer became His invitation into their lives.

There is only one way you can be invited into another persons earth space, and that’s the very same way God Himself is invited, through faith. The person(s) must believe in you as God’s hand and then either offer a direct request or act on your words. Yes! God made you in such a way that He can function on earth through you. The things that are true of Him are true of you within the constraints of Christ.

Please don’t let this truth get to your head. You can’t come back once you cross the line. I really don’t think that God has any intention of sending a third Adam to save you! Because once you become “God-aware” and then go bad, there’s no coming back. I beg you again, please observe Christ first, look into Him first, study His life first, study the scriptures like its the air you breath before you go all out into this. Understand what you are about to do before you do it. Make sure your zeal is backed by knowledge.

May God our Father give you unusual access into the wisdom of His existence, reveal hidden truths about Him to you, and awaken in you the ability to understand things from His own viewpoint, so that you will always know what He wants, how your lives and the things you do relate to who He is here on earth, and that you may be fully aware of, and operate fully in the ability of The Holy Spirit, Who is working on your inside to bring you into Christhood and to transport God unto your earth space through you. Amen!

“Dying to self” is one of those truths that many of us see as a destination, when in reality it is only a door to something glorious. I myself at one time was guilty of this short sighted perception. Jesus once met a blind man at the pool of Bethesda. It was the practice at that time for anyone with any kind of infirmity to wait patiently at the pool for an angel to come from heaven and stir the water. When this happens the first one to take a dive into the pool will be healed of whatever infirmity they carried.
Now, Jesus stood before this particular man and asked him a question, “what do you want?”

This morning that question is directed at those of you who have been trying to live a life of self denial. Sometimes we are caught up with the complexities of the formula that we forget what it is the formula is supposed to do for us. Some other times, sad to say, many don’t even have an idea what the formula they are struggling with is meant to do for them. The man at the pool in giving an answer to Jesus’ question began saying that there is no one to help him enter the pool first when the angel stirs it, talking about formula and forgetting why he came there in the first place. Eventually though he came around and realised the mistake he was making. Then he answered, “I want to see.”

The reason for today’s discussion is simple. It is for us to know that dying to self is not the main thing. That refusing to let our life be an expression of our own will and selfish intents is not an end but only a door into a new awareness, a glorious one. That in giving up our life we establish a vacancy for a new tenant in our body, The Lord of glory. There is need for us to embrace the life of God in Christ simultaneously as we reject our own, put on the new man as we put off the old. Our joy should not be in the fact that we have successfully put off the old man, no. Our rejoicing should come from the fact that we have successfully put on the new man created in the image of God.

Jesus for the joy set before Him endured the cross. We must do the same, knowing that our present struggle is working out a glorious hope. We are not dying for nothing. We are not giving up our life for nothing. We are exchanging it for the life of God. This is the beginning of godliness: death. God has categorically stated in Genesis, “My Spirit will not struggle with man.” So, until man becomes calm, I will not act. Until man becomes quiet, I will not speak. Until man stands still, I will not move. And it is only when man gives up control that I will take over. So my dears, are you ready to open that door?

You should think in the same way Christ Jesus does. In his very nature he was God. But he did not think that being equal with God was something he should hold on to. Instead, he made himself nothing. He took on the very nature of a servant. He was made in human form. He appeared as a man. He came down to the lowest level. He obeyed God completely, even though it led to his death. In fact, he died on a cross. …(Philippians 2:4-8)

Let this scripture be your guiding light in your journey into the realities of godliness. Never allow yourself to fall victim to the common error that many have fallen into, taking God away from the whole equation and submitting to a labour in futility trying to extract “God” from within themselves when they have not allowed Him passage through their hearts. The scriptures speak of those who posses a form of godliness but deny its power. This is when one tries to reflect God without submitting to Him. We must understand that it is in “death” that “life” emerges. To go up one must go down, and to “hold” one must first “let go.” You must die before you can live the life of God. In other words you must abandon and deny your own will and self before you can take up the personality of God.

They talk about “The Spark” or “The Awareness” among many other phrases and expressions they employ in a struggle to convince man that he is his own God, that he can embrace with liberty and zero accountability the place of God in his own life. If any of you are familiar with the things I am talking about, you will notice in the course of this discussion that they sound similar to the things we shall talk about: but you will also notice how they are so far from the truth in that they deliberately try to avoid giving God His true place of sovereignty and Lordship over all. They refuse to recognise Him as God, setting themselves up as “God” all by themselves.

Always keep your godliness within the scriptures. Do nothing, borrow nothing, consult nothing but the scriptures for your journey to Christhood. And try to remember this always: in your quest to godliness, imitate the seen God, not the unseen one. How can you imitate what you have not seen? Imitate “Christ,” not “God.” The scriptures say that no one has seen God, that it is Christ Jesus who has revealed Him to us. Therefore learn from Christ, the God you have seen. Remember what the scriptures say, “when He the Spirit of truth comes, He will take what belongs to Christ and make them yours.” Not what belongs to God! Jesus says, “as the Father sent me, so I am sending you.” Of course Christ is God, but in this matter there is no room for speculations and imaginations. We must simply stick to what is known.

The need for us to understand this matter cannot be overemphasised. Venturing off into a reality where in very real terms you become aware of the extraordinary power within you, the very presence of God within you, where you begin to rightly execute the will of God on earth, exercising Godlike authority over the affairs of life, having a very real awareness of your oneness with God is a very wonderful thing, and in order to ensure we stay true while operating in that reality we must never take our eyes off Jesus, who is the author and finisher of our faith, the initiator and also the one whose life is to guide us through it all till the end.
