When you sin, all that God requires of you is repentance. Don’t allow guilt to cease your heart permanently, just allow it to lead you to the place of confession, and after that, leave it behind, don’t even look back to say goodbye.

Now, what is repentance? It is simple; repentance means to have a change of heart. So, when the Spirit of God convicts me of sin, what I do is admit in my heart that, “yes, this thing that I did is evil.” Then, I say it out with my mouth. It doesn’t stop there, I have to have a change of heart in this manner, “next time I am in this kind of situation, this is what I should do, instead of this.”

Everybody knows how to go that far. The real problem is the last lap of repentance, which the scripture puts as “producing fruits in agreement with repentance.” This simply means to actually go all the way and practically live out your change of heart. If I tell you, that once you make up your heart to do something, that it can be seen as the commandment of God in your life, then you will realise that there is only one way to get what it takes to keep that commandment…

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (Joshua 1:8 ESV)

Yes, that is the only way. You must absorb spiritual energy from that decision in your heart through meditation, then and only then can you keep it. A piece of foam can hold water, which will release the water when squeezed, over your head as you take a bath, but first, you must soak the foam in the water. Soak your mind in that decision in your heart, so that when life squeezes next time, you will release the right response.

God BLESS you.
