He who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap. As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything. (Ecclesiastes 11:4, 5 ESV)
Let us note two things about mediation before we continue. First, “…he who regards the clouds will not reap.” If you have your eyes and mind on the conditions of that situation, concerning which you have planted the seed of God’s word, on which you believe the transforming power of God to come upon, you will not receive anything from God, you will not see the day of The Lord, neither will you see the coming of The Lord into that situation.
For example, you have prayed and you believe that sin shall not have dominion over you, that your whole body is an instrument of righteousness and therefore can only do righteousness, and here you are, remembering how ‘insulted’ it makes you feel when someone says an insulting thing to you. Let me tell you, you don’t need a word of knowledge from God for this one, I can confidently tell you, from what the word of God teaches, that you will not see ‘The Lord come’ in your life in the form of a tamed tongue when you are provoked, that’s what that scripture we read is saying. If you keep considering the facts, the conditions, and all that, you will never see the word produce results. So, take your eyes off of those lying images, and focus on God by meditating on the word. He will keep in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Him.
Secondly, Like we mentioned in our last conversation, no farmer when he has put his seeds into the ground, comes to do anything more to them in order for them to grow. All he does is to water the seed. There’s absolutely no responsibility, or contribution from the farmer in the actual growth of the seed. All that God has asked you to do in order to see the coming of The Lord is to believe, both the final ‘coming’ at the end of the age, and the many ‘comings’ that we experience each time the word of God is made manifest in our lives here on earth.
Meditation is the secret to sustaining our faith in any word of God we are waiting on, for its manifestation. Just as no one knows how or at which point the spirit enters into a baby in the womb, so also no one knows how The word brings forth results on the earth. God works His work while we keep saying what the word has promised us, or in other words, while we meditate on the word to build up or sustain faith. Meditation is not complete until something is said, but it is not all about talk. It is about focusing on the word of God with our thoughts and our words, We will look deeper into that tomorrow.
