There are two important issues arising from “Part 57” of our conversation, which I posted on Friday. We are meant to discuss these issues in detail in another series, but for the sake of clarity, with regards to our current conversation, we will mention a few things about them before we continue our conversation on meditation.

We mentioned that the human spirit has ‘creative ability’. Now, I would like to point out that it only seems that way, but it is really something else. When a woman gives birth, it seems the couple has just created another human being, but actually, what they did was to reproduce what has been. And this is really what the human spirit does, it reproduces things that already are. That is the law of seed time and harvest.

The writer of Ecclesiastes says that there is nothing new under the sun. What that means is this; whatever you see happen today, is only an offspring of something that has been in existence, it just keeps reproducing itself. God rested from the pure creative work after the sixth day, after that, creation by reproduction took off, and that is man’s responsibility, for he was told to multiply. So, when the spirit realm uses words to get the human spirit pregnant, realise that those words are seeds of what has been already created. This knowledge will be especially useful when we begin to discuss the doctrine of baptisms in detail.

Secondly, we said, “whatever any other source tries to build in creation will always be demolished to give way for what’s in the original blueprint, and whatever is built with fake ‘materials’ will crumble, because it cannot withstand the same kind of storms, adversities and shakings that the original ‘material’ can.” If we remember the parable of the sower, we will remember that for every seed that germinates, a compulsory testing comes on it, just like it says here, “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss;…. (I Corinthians 3:11-15 NKJV)

Listen very carefully, whenever there is a shaking in your life, be happy, be jumping up in thanksgiving, it is God that has come to make sure that whatever is happening in your life is according to His will. That is the angel stirring the water, jump in, don’t run away. That is the Master of the house back from His trip, He has come to settle accounts with those He gave the earth to occupy till He returns. As a child of God who has been trading with the goods of your Master, which means living in His will and acting in accordance with His words, you don’t have anything to fear. In all things, give thanks, for that is the will of God for you. Don’t get bitter, don’t get depressed, don’t start a fight, just give thanks, keep rejoicing till it’s over, otherwise, you will miss what God is about to do.

This is exactly what you should do, three things.
“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:15, 16 NKJV)”

(1) Enter into and remain in His presence through joy, which can be activated and sustained through thanksgiving and praise. In the presence of God, there is fullness of joy. Your Father has come to visit you, come boldly into His presence, to the throne of grace. For example, if they gang up against you in the office, your first response, after you recover from the shock of the surprise, is to rejoice and thank God for it. Rejoice and keep rejoicing, remain joyful for as long as it lasts, and keep thanking God for coming to check on you. Be truly thankful, without ill feelings. The psalmist will teach you a lot about this.

(2) Walk in love. Remember the prodigal son, he had to come into his fathers presence when there was shaking in his life, and then his father recognised him and had mercy on him, and embraced him. The fact that his father recognised and embraced him as his son, is the whole point of this second thing. To obtain mercy from God in that situation, God has to recognise you as His own within that situation, and the only way to achieve that is to keep showing God’s image in that situation. God is love, so you must keep walking in love there. The scripture says that, to him that has, more shall be given to him, but to him who has not, even the little he has shall be taken from him.

If you lose it, and start attacking those that has ganged up against you, start quarrelling, and start doing all those things that don’t show the righteousness of God, you will miss out on what God has come to do. Just keep walking in love for as long as it lasts. Don’t observe the lying vanities that try to suggest to you that it is your mother-in-law, or your enemies in the occult, or your enemies in the office that are responsible, if you observe those lying vanities, you will miss out on God’s mercy. They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. (Jonah 2:8 KJV)

(3) Watch and pray that you may not fall into temptation. Do you remember in the book of Job, when the sons of God gathered before the throne of grace, just like you have? You remember the devil also came? Now, while God came to bless His sons, the devil came to set traps for them, at the same time. When the scripture says, “watch and pray so that you don’t fall into temptation,” it is saying, “watch and pray so that you don’t fall into a trap.” You see, during these times of shakings, you won’t just fold your hands and do nothing, you have to do something, but if you don’t watch and pray, you will fall into a trap, you will take the wrong step, or say the wrong thing, or start thinking(meditating on) the wrong thing.

I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected. (Habakkuk 2:1 NKJV). This part is closely related to the first issue of reproduction we discussed at the top of this conversation. Let’s first of all explain the words and expressions in the verse above. “…when I am corrected.” actually refers to chastisement. God chastises those He loves. And every tree that bears fruit, He prunes, so that it can bear more fruit. This is actually talking about times of shakings in your life, when God comes to make sure that His thoughts for you, which are good, are are still in place.

“Rampart” refer to scriptures that describe the manifestations of God in your life. A combination of both is what the scriptures refer to as altars. Altars are instances in your life where God has, in the past manifested Himself to you according to His word, things that happened in your life and you knew this is God’s doing, things that made you truly from your heart say, Thank You Father.
What I am sharing with you now, I heard it for the very first time from Pastor Poju Oyemade, and I went back to check the bible for myself and saw that it is true, then God showed me other things about it, that was when a lot of the things that has happened in my life began to make perfect sense to me, and I pray that these will change your life.

The fathers of old always built their altars where God manifested Himself to them, and when there’s a shaking in their life, they usually come back to that altar, because those altars are seeds God sowed in their life, and each time they face something like that again in the future, they come back to it and it is multiplied in their life. You can also build altars with what God did in other people’s lives, or through faith in what the word of God says He does.

“…what I will answer…” is another way of saying, “how I will respond” or “what I will do” in the situation. And then, to “watch” is to stay at the altars of God which are in your heart. The reason why you are there is to get instructions from God on what to do in the situation you have found yourself in. So, how exactly do you “watch,” what do you do at the altar? You offer a sacrifice. And that sacrifice is you. You must offer up yourself as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, for that is your reasonable service. What does that mean? Don’t retaliate, don’t fight back, don’t take matters into your own hands even if you could, don’t “show them who you are”, just deny yourself, tie yourself up with the love of God and lay yourself on that altar.

Then, set the altar on fire and keep the fire burning by rejoicing and thanksgiving unto God. Keep worshipping Him in joy, with praises and thanksgiving. A sweet smelling aroma is what you are sending into heaven, just keep at it, and God will show up. When God shows up, and He will show up before ‘death’ comes on you, He will show you a lamb tied to the bushes. What does this mean? It means He will tell you exactly what to do, He will show you the steps you need to take, and when you take them, you will see God. You see, grace “teaches”. So, when the scripture says you’ll find grace to help you in time of need, it means God will tell you what exactly to do. There is always a human action to take before a miracle is perfected on earth, that action is what is called grace, that is what scripture calls the wisdom of God. And if you are walking in love while you watch and wait for this wisdom, which means you have God, for God is love, then to him that has will more be given, God will give you this wisdom.

A note of warning here though. Pastor Poju will say, God does not repeat miracles the same way, that He did it for me like this, does not mean He will do it for you the same way. And it is true. That Naaman was told to wash in the river, does not mean every other leper that washes in the same river will be healed. That Jesus sent Peter to cast his net into a particular side of the boat that night, and he caught lots of fishes, does not mean that other fishermen there that night could do the same and get the same result. Yes, if God does it for me, He can do it for you, but not the same way, and that God did it for you before, yes He will reproduce it again in your life, but this time it will not be exactly like before. The manna you gather today, will not serve you tomorrow. And we all may have our lamps lit with light, but that ‘extra’ oil that it takes to see the bridegroom appear, cannot be borrowed, you must have your own, remember the ten virgins. That is why you must find out exactly what He wants you to do each time.

That is the other thing you do before an altar, you pray. Remember the scripture says watch and pray, so pray and ask God to show you exactly what to do. He will show you. Tomorrow we shall get back to our conversation on meditation.
