Now, I will not have you thinking that this thing with faith is reserved for the Christian alone. Please consult “Part 57” of this series for a conversation on that. Having said that, we have found from scripture that it is water that is responsible for things to grow, which is physically rain and spiritually faith. Scripture tells us this; “For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. (Romans 12:3 NKJV)” This tells us that faith is not the result of anybody’s own doing, it is a deposit from God in every man, born again or not. Everybody has the “faith potential” given to them by God, as part of their humanity.

That is why the scriptures say God “…gives rain on the earth, And sends waters on the fields. (Job 5:10 NKJV). And again it says God causes His rain to fall on the fields of both the wicked and the just, which means, every man is covered in the faith potential. That’s why there are all sorts of results being achieved by groups and peoples who are not of Christ. And that’s why even you, can sometimes bring about the wrong things in your life when you apply your faith to the wrong thing.

Understand this; God created man to control his physical dwelling from his spirit. It was after the sin at Eden, that God chased man out of the ‘spirit realms’ into the ‘flesh region’, which is what actually we refer to as the fall; the demotion from the realm of spirits to that of mortal biodegradable man.
Also realise that it is not only the word of God that the spirit or heart of man treats as seed. Whatever has a name or can be described, can be a seed in the spirit of man. Once it is believed, it ‘may’ come to pass, hence, the warning; guard your heart…

But here’s the reason for this particular post; man is a very powerful creation, with awesome potentials. Your greatest concern in life, your topmost priority, ranking second to nothing, is what you believe: be careful what you believe, guard your heart with all diligence for out of it flows the issues of life. People will feed you a load of crap, life also will do that. You will hear things and see things, but that’s not what matters, because it’s not what enters a man that defiles him, but what comes out of him. It is the ones you mix with faith that matter. And eventhough man is powerful, yet, God reigns in the affairs of men, only His will shall stand. See you tomorrow.
(YOU ARE CHRIST. Ephesians 2:13-16, Galatians 2:18-20)

When you hear the word of God for the first time, and you mix it with faith, according to Hebrews chapter four and verse two, that’s when the word, or the seed of God is planted into your heart. It’s the same as putting the seed of corn into the soil. I want you to note something very fundamental to this process.

To say you have successfully planted a seed of corn into the soil for onward development into a mature harvest, the soil in which you put the seed must have moisture in it, there must be water in the soil to maintain direct contact between the seed and the soil on a molecular level. In this state, the seed and the soil become one, seamlessly sustaining one single process through mechanisms like osmosis, diffusion, etc. and that one process of bringing forth life is activated, sustained and completed in the presence of water. That’s the reason crops don’t grow in deserts. It’s not enough to have dry body contact between the seed and the sand.

Remember the parable of the sower? That is why the seed that fell on the pathway, where the sand was hard and dry did not even germinate. That was also why the seed that fell on the rocky soil germinated and then died. The parable tells us that the moisture in the rocky soil was not much, and that when the sun came up, it absorbed the little moisture that was left, and so the seed that had germinated died.

So, when you hear the word of God, there must be ‘moisture’ to establish that spiritual contact between your heart or spirit(the soil) and the word(the seed). That moisture is faith, For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. (Hebrews 4:2 NKJV). That word translated ‘mixed’ means to ‘commingle’, which is to combine two different things into one organic whole, to unite two things into one whole.

Understand then, that when a person hears the word of God and really believes it, something very miraculous and extraordinary happens to them. The word becomes commingled with their spirit, and something new, a “New Creation” begins to grow, and it will eventually mature into the tree that produced that seed. This is how we get born again, and this is how we grow spiritually as we continue to discover more and more of the tree we came from. For the true believer, that tree is Christ, which is God, among men. Meaning; the incarnation of God, in the realm of men, or in simple English; Christ is what God looks like in the world of man. We will continue on Monday, but this is why I always remind you that…
(YOU ARE CHRIST. Ephesians 2:13-16, Galatians 2:18-20)

I would have asked you to go and read this scripture on your own, but I know some of you won’t do that, so I put it here. Read and think on it with respect to what we’ve discussed today. God bless you.

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. (Ephesians 2:13-16 NKJV)

I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. (I Corinthians 3:6-9 NKJV)

I hope we all still remember our elementary plant science? We still remember what happens to the seed when it is planted? Let’s take a short refresher course on that, just in case. So, a farmer has these seeds of corn, and he wants to cultivate them, with the intention of harvesting a field full of fresh ears of corn after a season. What does he do? He takes the seeds, plants them into the soil, then he has to water them manually or let the rains do that for him. They germinate and get growing. He will then wait patiently for the growing plants to mature for harvest, then he reaps what he sowed, in good measure, much more than the measure he put in the ground. This will help us understand what meditation is in a very simple and profound manner.
Now, the whole farming process represent several of the elementary teachings of faith as mentioned in the book of Hebrews, which in reality overlap each other without a clear demarcation of the end of one, and the beginning of the next. This overlap is explained by the way God commanded Moses to make the mercy seat, and the cherubim seating on top of the ark of testimony. He asked him to make them of one piece of gold, without joints. Perhaps God will grant us opportunity to talk about that in greater detail in the future.

For now, we are concerned with the doctrine of baptisms, and at the very moment focused on meditation. And the doctrine of baptisms lie somewhere between the “planting of God’s word in the heart, and the manifestation of same,” i.e. The planting of the seed, and the harvest. Meditation in particular, is the watering of the seed and of the growing plant. We shall explain this further tomorrow.
(YOU ARE CHRIST. Galatians 2:18-20)

Let’s be clear about something: in walking with God there are no formulas. That is the way of man, not of God. And I will not lead you into that trap, where you find yourself in a box, unable to adapt to differences and variations in your life and encounters. Rules and regulations put you back in bondage, and make you a baby perpetually. It is better to teach you how sentences are formed by combining words, not making you memorise sentences already made up. The way of the sons of Issachar is the perfect way; understand the situation clearly, and be able to discern what to do in every situation.

So, I will not give you a “ten step approach to meditation,” NO! I will only teach you the principles and show you the tools, then you will put the principles to practice and work the tools as situations arise, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit. That is what the scriptures mean when it says, “you need not that any man teach you, for the anointing is within you, and it teaches you.” You don’t need someone to tell you what to do at every particular moment, the Holy Spirit will tell you that. All the training officer needs to do for the soldier is teach him how to wield the sword, but when in battle, the instincts of the soldier takes over. I am just going to arm your spirit, then when you face your battle, the Spirit shall take over, and guide you.

In walking with God, the more you’re independent, the weaker you are, but the more dependent on God you are, the stronger you become. That’s the point that people miss. Use this as a guide in your walk with God, whatever saves you from dependence on God is weakening you spiritually and taking you away from God. You might think you’re growing, but that kind of growth is on the mind level. It’s usually hard to realise you’ve started slipping away from God in such situations because of what the scriptures say about the mind, that it’s very deceitful and wicked. You’ll think you’re making progress, but you’re actually on a part that will lead to death.

That’s when you hear people say things like, “if God doesn’t want me to think, then why did He give me a mind?” You never hear them ask the same question about their spirit, which ought to rule their mind. We’re not saying your mind is useless, we’re only saying you have to ‘use’ your mind, not let it ‘use’ you. Here’s how it works; God uses His word to enlighten your spirit with wisdom, for the entrance of His word brings light,

The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord, Searching all the inner depths of his heart. (Proverbs 20:27 NKJV).

Then, this wisdom is reflected upon your mind by your spirit;

Oh, that I were as in months past, As in the days when God watched over me; When His lamp shone upon my head, And when by His light I walked through darkness; (Job 29:2, 3 NKJV)

So, bear these things in mind as we continue.
(YOU ARE CHRIST. Galatians 2:18-20)

Let’s begin by laying some ground rules about godly meditation. This is very important because there are many other religions and occultic organisations out there that have one form of meditation or the other, actually it’s the same principles, but different approaches. We have to realise, that in life, it’s the approach to something, the knowledge we work with that makes all the difference. Man’s spirit(heart) was designed to operate with the right kind of knowledge, just like car engines run on fuel. The wrong fuel might cause a smoky combustion, or a louder burn, or a total engine malfunction, whichever one, the bottom line is the breakdown of the car, gradually or immediately. YOU DON’T WANT YOUR SPIRIT(HEART) TO OPERATE WITH THE WRONG KNOWLEDGE, AND END UP DESTROYING YOUSELF.

When the Lord your God cuts off from before you the nations which you go to dispossess, and you displace them and dwell in their land, take heed to yourself that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods? I also will do likewise.’ You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way; for every abomination to the Lord which He hates they have done to their gods; for they burn even their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods. “Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it. (Deuteronomy 12:29-32 NKJV)

The first to the last, and most important rule about meditation or operating in the spirit realm is this; THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL TEACH YOU EVERYTHING ABOUT IT FROM THE SCRIPTURES AND FROM THE SCRIPTURES ALONE. THE WORD OF GOD IS THE BASIS FOR EVERYTHING.

I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you. (John 16:12, 13, 15 NKJV)

These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you. But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. (I John 2:26, 27 NKJV).

YOU ARE CHRIST. Galatians 2:18-20)

There are two important issues arising from “Part 57” of our conversation, which I posted on Friday. We are meant to discuss these issues in detail in another series, but for the sake of clarity, with regards to our current conversation, we will mention a few things about them before we continue our conversation on meditation.

We mentioned that the human spirit has ‘creative ability’. Now, I would like to point out that it only seems that way, but it is really something else. When a woman gives birth, it seems the couple has just created another human being, but actually, what they did was to reproduce what has been. And this is really what the human spirit does, it reproduces things that already are. That is the law of seed time and harvest.

The writer of Ecclesiastes says that there is nothing new under the sun. What that means is this; whatever you see happen today, is only an offspring of something that has been in existence, it just keeps reproducing itself. God rested from the pure creative work after the sixth day, after that, creation by reproduction took off, and that is man’s responsibility, for he was told to multiply. So, when the spirit realm uses words to get the human spirit pregnant, realise that those words are seeds of what has been already created. This knowledge will be especially useful when we begin to discuss the doctrine of baptisms in detail.

Secondly, we said, “whatever any other source tries to build in creation will always be demolished to give way for what’s in the original blueprint, and whatever is built with fake ‘materials’ will crumble, because it cannot withstand the same kind of storms, adversities and shakings that the original ‘material’ can.” If we remember the parable of the sower, we will remember that for every seed that germinates, a compulsory testing comes on it, just like it says here, “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss;…. (I Corinthians 3:11-15 NKJV)

Listen very carefully, whenever there is a shaking in your life, be happy, be jumping up in thanksgiving, it is God that has come to make sure that whatever is happening in your life is according to His will. That is the angel stirring the water, jump in, don’t run away. That is the Master of the house back from His trip, He has come to settle accounts with those He gave the earth to occupy till He returns. As a child of God who has been trading with the goods of your Master, which means living in His will and acting in accordance with His words, you don’t have anything to fear. In all things, give thanks, for that is the will of God for you. Don’t get bitter, don’t get depressed, don’t start a fight, just give thanks, keep rejoicing till it’s over, otherwise, you will miss what God is about to do.

This is exactly what you should do, three things.
“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:15, 16 NKJV)”

(1) Enter into and remain in His presence through joy, which can be activated and sustained through thanksgiving and praise. In the presence of God, there is fullness of joy. Your Father has come to visit you, come boldly into His presence, to the throne of grace. For example, if they gang up against you in the office, your first response, after you recover from the shock of the surprise, is to rejoice and thank God for it. Rejoice and keep rejoicing, remain joyful for as long as it lasts, and keep thanking God for coming to check on you. Be truly thankful, without ill feelings. The psalmist will teach you a lot about this.

(2) Walk in love. Remember the prodigal son, he had to come into his fathers presence when there was shaking in his life, and then his father recognised him and had mercy on him, and embraced him. The fact that his father recognised and embraced him as his son, is the whole point of this second thing. To obtain mercy from God in that situation, God has to recognise you as His own within that situation, and the only way to achieve that is to keep showing God’s image in that situation. God is love, so you must keep walking in love there. The scripture says that, to him that has, more shall be given to him, but to him who has not, even the little he has shall be taken from him.

If you lose it, and start attacking those that has ganged up against you, start quarrelling, and start doing all those things that don’t show the righteousness of God, you will miss out on what God has come to do. Just keep walking in love for as long as it lasts. Don’t observe the lying vanities that try to suggest to you that it is your mother-in-law, or your enemies in the occult, or your enemies in the office that are responsible, if you observe those lying vanities, you will miss out on God’s mercy. They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. (Jonah 2:8 KJV)

(3) Watch and pray that you may not fall into temptation. Do you remember in the book of Job, when the sons of God gathered before the throne of grace, just like you have? You remember the devil also came? Now, while God came to bless His sons, the devil came to set traps for them, at the same time. When the scripture says, “watch and pray so that you don’t fall into temptation,” it is saying, “watch and pray so that you don’t fall into a trap.” You see, during these times of shakings, you won’t just fold your hands and do nothing, you have to do something, but if you don’t watch and pray, you will fall into a trap, you will take the wrong step, or say the wrong thing, or start thinking(meditating on) the wrong thing.

I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected. (Habakkuk 2:1 NKJV). This part is closely related to the first issue of reproduction we discussed at the top of this conversation. Let’s first of all explain the words and expressions in the verse above. “…when I am corrected.” actually refers to chastisement. God chastises those He loves. And every tree that bears fruit, He prunes, so that it can bear more fruit. This is actually talking about times of shakings in your life, when God comes to make sure that His thoughts for you, which are good, are are still in place.

“Rampart” refer to scriptures that describe the manifestations of God in your life. A combination of both is what the scriptures refer to as altars. Altars are instances in your life where God has, in the past manifested Himself to you according to His word, things that happened in your life and you knew this is God’s doing, things that made you truly from your heart say, Thank You Father.
What I am sharing with you now, I heard it for the very first time from Pastor Poju Oyemade, and I went back to check the bible for myself and saw that it is true, then God showed me other things about it, that was when a lot of the things that has happened in my life began to make perfect sense to me, and I pray that these will change your life.

The fathers of old always built their altars where God manifested Himself to them, and when there’s a shaking in their life, they usually come back to that altar, because those altars are seeds God sowed in their life, and each time they face something like that again in the future, they come back to it and it is multiplied in their life. You can also build altars with what God did in other people’s lives, or through faith in what the word of God says He does.

“…what I will answer…” is another way of saying, “how I will respond” or “what I will do” in the situation. And then, to “watch” is to stay at the altars of God which are in your heart. The reason why you are there is to get instructions from God on what to do in the situation you have found yourself in. So, how exactly do you “watch,” what do you do at the altar? You offer a sacrifice. And that sacrifice is you. You must offer up yourself as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, for that is your reasonable service. What does that mean? Don’t retaliate, don’t fight back, don’t take matters into your own hands even if you could, don’t “show them who you are”, just deny yourself, tie yourself up with the love of God and lay yourself on that altar.

Then, set the altar on fire and keep the fire burning by rejoicing and thanksgiving unto God. Keep worshipping Him in joy, with praises and thanksgiving. A sweet smelling aroma is what you are sending into heaven, just keep at it, and God will show up. When God shows up, and He will show up before ‘death’ comes on you, He will show you a lamb tied to the bushes. What does this mean? It means He will tell you exactly what to do, He will show you the steps you need to take, and when you take them, you will see God. You see, grace “teaches”. So, when the scripture says you’ll find grace to help you in time of need, it means God will tell you what exactly to do. There is always a human action to take before a miracle is perfected on earth, that action is what is called grace, that is what scripture calls the wisdom of God. And if you are walking in love while you watch and wait for this wisdom, which means you have God, for God is love, then to him that has will more be given, God will give you this wisdom.

A note of warning here though. Pastor Poju will say, God does not repeat miracles the same way, that He did it for me like this, does not mean He will do it for you the same way. And it is true. That Naaman was told to wash in the river, does not mean every other leper that washes in the same river will be healed. That Jesus sent Peter to cast his net into a particular side of the boat that night, and he caught lots of fishes, does not mean that other fishermen there that night could do the same and get the same result. Yes, if God does it for me, He can do it for you, but not the same way, and that God did it for you before, yes He will reproduce it again in your life, but this time it will not be exactly like before. The manna you gather today, will not serve you tomorrow. And we all may have our lamps lit with light, but that ‘extra’ oil that it takes to see the bridegroom appear, cannot be borrowed, you must have your own, remember the ten virgins. That is why you must find out exactly what He wants you to do each time.

That is the other thing you do before an altar, you pray. Remember the scripture says watch and pray, so pray and ask God to show you exactly what to do. He will show you. Tomorrow we shall get back to our conversation on meditation.

The human spirit, both of those in Christ and those outside Christ posses this creative ability unleashed by meditation. That is why the devil still manipulates things upon the earth by using the spirit of those under his control, and that’s why you still cause negative things to happen in your life when you don’t guard your heart. The fall did not take away man’s ability to create, it only disconnected man from God, Who is the original source of reality. Man can still lend his abilities to any other source, which is actually what he did at Eden, he signed himself away to the serpent.

But here’s what makes the distinction between those that are of God and others. The original ‘material’ that creation is built on is the word of God, and the blueprint of creation is in the mind of God, His will. So, whatever any other source tries to build in creation will always be demolished to give way for what’s in the original blueprint, and whatever is built with fake ‘materials’ will crumble, because it cannot withstand the same kind of storms, adversities and shakings that the original ‘material’ can. So, all things work together for good, to those who are using the original ‘material’ and building with the original blueprint.

Therefore, if you build something in life, according to the will of God, and with His word, nobody, not even the devil can do anything against it. There’s no court anywhere that can rule against it, spiritually and physically. The reason why even as a Christian, you are living in defeat and oppression, is because you are getting one or both of these things wrong. You married for the wrong reasons, now your marriage is hell, you have the wrong job against God’s will, now you’ve lost it or it’s giving you hell, you made the wrong decision about something against God’s will and without God’s word as your base, now you’re getting hell in return.

Do you now remember why we said what we said in “Part 48?” That you are the problem, not God. There is an evil I have seen under the sun, As an error proceeding from the ruler: Folly is set in great dignity, While the rich sit in a lowly place. I have seen servants on horses, While princes walk on the ground like servants. He who digs a pit will fall into it, And whoever breaks through a wall will be bitten by a serpent. He who quarries stones may be hurt by them, And he who splits wood may be endangered by it. If the ax is dull, And one does not sharpen the edge, Then he must use more strength; But wisdom brings success. (Ecclesiastes 10:5-10 NKJV)

So, provided you are in God’s will, walking in the word, provided you find out first what God wants, and then do it by the word, don’t fear other people who are working for the devil, they cannot touch you, don’t be afraid of anything, or anybody, or of the devil himself. You are invincible. Tomorrow we will talk about meditation proper.
(YOU ARE CHRIST. Galatians 2:18-20)
