We asked ourselves this very fundamental and crucial question, “why do we keep losing God’s babies because of the challenges of divine pregnancy?” Why do we give up faith somewhere along the way because of trials? Why does difficulties make us unable to keep believing till the end in order to receive what was promised? Why do we throw in the towel a bit too soon?

How come the mountain we believed will move away for us is still standing and we’re the ones fallen beside the road from exhaustion? Why are we unable to practically live in the experience of the word of God, with all those wonderful promises and extraordinary descriptions of us made manifest in our lives? Why has many rushed to the conclusion that being Christ on earth is just not possible?

The scriptures did give us the answer, “If you faint in the day of adversity, Your strength is small.” (Proverbs 24:10 NKJV). Just as it is in the natural, whatever we do in Christ require energy, spiritual energy in this case. We need it to pray, to declare words of power, to win battles in the mind, to hold unto joy in the face of contrary events, to keep our feet planted and not be moved from our faith position. Jesus making reference to the existence of this energy, when the woman with the issue of blood touched Him said, “…virtue has left me.”

It is the lack or shortage of this spiritual energy or strength that undermines our ability as children of God to excercise the authority of gods on earth and live the life of Christ, the anointed life. This energy we’re talking about is “the measure of faith”. Just like natural energy is measured in joules, spiritual energy is measured in faith. Just like natural energy has varying quantities, spiritual energy also has varying quantities. They both can be used up and can also be replenished.

Abraham, the father of faith gives us a worthy example of the workings of abundant faith, which is “every other moment” sufficient spiritual energy. “…not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.” (Romans 4:19 NKJV). The book of Ezekiel talks about the ankle deep, knee deep, waist deep, etc level. We will, in the course of this series understand this clearly and learn how to increase that spiritual energy at will.
