HOW TO PRACTICALLY OPERATE IN GOD’S SHOES (PT. 11)

What is righteousness? In secondary school chemistry classes, we learnt that if you have a substance that you suspect to be an acid, you can investigate and confirm the acidity of the substance by a simple test. Take a piece of paper, called litmus paper that has been previously soaked in a certain substance, then dip it into the substance you’re investigating, It will turn red if it is an acid.

Now, imagine someone pointing to the red colour and saying “see acid!” Funny right? Of course, and that’s because the red colour is not the acid, it is the proof that the substance it was diped into is an acid. The red colour is the action that the acid takes when it is exposed to the other substance that the paper had been soaked with. Righteousness is not just right-action. Right-thinking, right-speaking and right-action are the effects of the presence of righteousness in the heart of a believer. The good man, out of the good stored up in his heart brings forth good things.

Another example; what if someone comes along with a substance and says “this is an acid.” And you ask, “why do you say that?” The fellow replies, “I believe it is and if I test it with litmus paper it will turn the paper red.” Again you ask, “have you tested it then?” He replies, “not yet but I believe it will turn litmus paper red.” And then he hops along with a smile on his face. Sincerely, you will shake your head and say, “what a fool!” And that is exactly what the scripture calls such people who build houses on sand. I am ashamed to say this; there are many fools in church. I hope you’re not one of them!? Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance,…He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” (Matthew 3:8, 12 NKJV)

What if you chase after the fellow, you catch up and he stops. You say, “good fellow, here’s litmus paper, test that thing you have just to be sure, you don’t want to get to where you’ll use it and find out it’s not what you think.” He takes the paper, dips it into the substance and nothing happens. This is what the scripture calls dead faith. The righteousness that such people claim to have is exactly what it is, a mere claim! They haven’t got it. My dear, is your “litmus paper” red?
YOU ARE CHRIST.

HOW TO PRACTICALLY OPERATE IN GOD’S SHOES (PT. 10)

Over the course of this week and early next week we will dwell on these three very important and essential subjects of our being as children of the Most High; righteousness, peace and joy. We will spend about two to three days on each, making an edifying journey to the centre of our faith. Christianity begins and ends in these three things, they are as essential to our walk with God as our DNA is to our development as human beings. They are the keys of the kingdom.

Make no mistakes about what I am saying! I am not making religious statements here, the things I have said above are not meant to sound deep and greatly important, they are! The ignorance of these things, and perhaps also the refusal by those who know these things already to act on them are the reason for the state of the church today. The end is near! And the church that will be raptured is a church that has the DNA of the kingdom. Brethren it is time to rethink and return to the path of righteousness, peace and joy, or be left behind.

Across the book of Revelation, The Lord made it very very clear in many instances that those that shall receive the final rewards of the Maker of all things are those who “overcome” here on the earth, by continually living the kind of life and producing the kind of results that Jesus has. The scripture has told us in the book of John that the Holy Spirit, will at His coming take the things that are Christ’s and make them ours. And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations— (Revelation 2:26 NKJV)

It is written, whatever is born of God overcomes the world. The reason why you made a mistake in that relationship you went into is because either the relationship itself, something within it, or the way you went about it was not born of God. The reason you made a decision to move to a new city and when you got there your walk with God began to suffer, and you began to get into all sorts of trouble is because that move was not born of God.

The reason why the decisions you make, the actions you take and the ambitions you have bring you disappointments, sorrow and lack of fulfilment is because they are not expressions of the will of God. And the reason why the earth will recognize you is because your life is an expression of the will of God, the earth has long been expecting such beings, the manifestation of the sons of God. It is also why heaven will receive you, now and in the end.
YOU ARE CHRIST.

HOW TO PRACTICALLY OPERATE IN GOD’S SHOES (PT. 9)

The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. The manifest presence of God, where the sovereignty of God and His ultimate power is constantly at work is characterised by righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. Please note that we are not talking about the occasional miracle, or the general goodness of God over people. We are talking about the ability to operate as God on the earth at all times, and to live constantly under open heavens, Emmanuel.

The bible teaches us that Jesus Christ is the word of God made manifest; in the beginning was the word, and the word was God…and the word was made flesh…. Jesus Christ is the complete manifestation of the word of God. So, when the wise men were guided by the sign of the manifested word(star) to the place He was born, they brought out from within their treasures three things; gold, frankincense and myrrh. These are types for righteousness, peace and joy.

Now, observe that these wise men were bringing out these things from their treasures when they got to where Jesus was. That means that they already had them. They had those three things all along while they were following that star. One cannot hope to always arrive at the manifestation of the word of God in ones life without being armed with those three things; righteousness, peace and joy.

In life we do not carry treasure chests around, our treasures are stored in our hearts. The good man out of the good stored in his heart brings forth good things and wherever your treasure is there also will your heart be. Your heart is inseparable with your treasure. God, your Father has put these three things inside your heart. Therefore, guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it flows the issues of life.

Without those three things at work in our lives, we will not be able to keep our eyes fixed on that star, the author and finisher of our faith. That’s when we begin to miss the way, begin to make mistakes in life and run into all kinds of calamities that leave the mark of death all over our lives. But thank God those things are in you! The question however is this; will you walk in them?
YOU ARE CHRIST!

Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil; for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men. (Romans 14:16-18 NKJV)

Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:20, 21 NKJV)

How do we locate ourselves in the kingdom of God all the time? How do we ensure that we abide always in that domain where the kings influence, authority and power is exerted 100%? How do we operate in God’s shoes at every point in our lives continuously? First, I want you to hear this; “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. (Luke 12:32 NKJV) God wants you to have His kingdom, He wants you to operate in His shoes here on earth, so cheer up.

Consider this scripture “for the kingdom of God is…righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” Notice that “is” not “are” was used. It is important to note that because a lot of people practice what we are discussing and conclude that it doesn’t work, all because they ignored that simple observation. The implication of the “is” that was used is simple; the kingdom of God within you is the kingdom of God only when all three is present. The absence of one means no kingdom.

Keep rejoicing, because it is your Fathers good pleasure to give you the kingdom. That is why He has put all three parts inside you, “…for indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” So, what “is” they? Wise men who see the manifestation of the word of God open up their treasures, and from within bring forth three things; gold, frankincense and myrrh. Keep that excitement of knowing that God wants you to have His kingdom alive till tomorrow.
YOU ARE CHRIST.

HOW TO PRACTICALLY OPERATE IN GOD’S SHOES (PT. 7)

“When they are diminished and brought low Through oppression, affliction, and sorrow, He pours contempt on princes, And causes them to wander in the wilderness where there is no way; Yet He sets the poor on high, far from affliction, And makes their families like a flock. The righteous see it and rejoice, And all iniquity stops its mouth. (Psalms 107:39-42 NKJV)”

It came to my attention that the sorrow of which we speak of in our conversation may be misunderstood. So, I consider it expedient to render a clarification. I will not have us think that one should not cry, or mourn, or be sad APPROPRIATELY. Of this, the scriptures exhort us not to mourn like those without hope, meaning there is a proper way to mourn, for those who have the joy of The Lord. This is because they see the salvation of The Lord from afar, because they have received the word of The Lord with faith.

It is proper to express emotion, but wrong to let the wrong kind of knowledge, or to let the things that we see(temporary things), which the bible calls lying vanities determine how we feel. It is proper to cry when someone dies, Jesus wept for His friend Lazarus, but it is wrong to let your heart make decisions and utter words from the place of sorrow just because someone died. When Lazarus died, Jesus knew in the Spirit that He needed to wait for four days before going to their house, eventhough He loved Lazarus so much.

Why did Jesus have to wait? Go up and read what happened before that, you will see that the Jews wanted to kill Him and He escaped. Where Jesus was when He got the news of Lazarus’ death was a place He decided to stay in order to avoid the Jews till their mob tendencies cooled down. So, if Jesus had allowed Himself to be push out of there back to the place where a mob was waiting to kill Him, that would have been acting under emotions.

“When they are diminished and brought low Through oppression, affliction, and sorrow, He pours contempt on princes, And causes them to wander in the wilderness where there is no way; Yet He sets the poor on high, far from affliction, And makes their families like a flock. The righteous see it and rejoice, And all iniquity stops its mouth.”

If Jesus had allowed sorrow to take over His heart, He would have made mistakes, and brought Himself face to face with death. He wisely looked at the salvation of The Lord from afar, something not yet seen(eternal things) and said Lazarus is sleeping. Don’t allow yourself to become negative about life, don’t let the circumstances of life cause you to live with feelings of discontentment, offense, negativity and hopelessness, or worse begin to question God. There is a right way to cry, and be sad, and mourn. Don’t get it twisted.
YOU ARE CHRIST.

HOW TO PRACTICALLY OPERATE IN GOD’S SHOES (PT. 6)

When they are diminished and brought low Through oppression, affliction, and sorrow, He pours contempt on princes, And causes them to wander in the wilderness where there is no way; Yet He sets the poor on high, far from affliction, And makes their families like a flock. The righteous see it and rejoice, And all iniquity stops its mouth. (Psalms 107:39-42 NKJV)

A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken. All the days of the afflicted are evil, But he who is of a merry heart has a continual feast. (Proverbs 15:13, 15 NKJV)

Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse unto them. (Lamentations 3:65 KJV)

Kiss the Son quickly, make peace with Him because if the Father gets angry at you, He will allow things that will generate sorrow in your heart to come your way and you will be blinded from seeing hope in the word of God, then you will do things that will bring you face to face with “death” in your relationships, finances, and life in general. Take God at His word now so that you can see the salvation of The Lord from afar and rejoice in it, then the mouth of “death” will be closed in your life.

Do you know anyone who is always sad and unhappy? How often does good things happen in that persons life? What about a cheerful person? Do you know any cheerful person? Someone might argue and say, well, the reason why the unhappy man is unhappy is because good things don’t happen in his life, he’s just having a hard time. Well, if you look at the second scripture up there you will see that the wisest man that ever walked the earth disagrees.

Understand this, the universe, the created reality can hear the voice of its creator. So, when one of His representatives “speak” His word the universe will hear and respond accordingly. Let me ask you two questions. One, what state of the heart accompanies the birth of a child? Two, what state of heart accompanies a death? Let me repeat this; sorrow is the foretaste of death, and joy is the foretaste of life. The manifestation of the word of God, which is Christ, is announced and heralded by joy.

The only time Jesus was sorrowful was when He was nearing His death, and He knew exactly what He was doing because He said He was laying down His life willingly. Joy and sorrow are like magnets, they attract either life or death, more joy or more sorrow. Sorrow is a covering that blinds people from life, it is a curse, that’s what the scripture from Lamentations is saying. Jesus willingly took our curse upon Himself, of which sorrow is part of.

When Paul and Silas were thrown into prison they sang themselves out with the joy of The Lord. When Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego were thrown into the fire they danced themselves out of it in the presence of The Lord. The reason I am talking much about this is because the other two, righteousness and peace has been preached about so much, but not joy. But this kind of joy is the kind of joy that comes from being righteous in your heart and at peace with God in your heart, not the kind of happiness that comes from carnal merriment.
YOU ARE CHRIST.

HOW TO PRACTICALLY OPERATE IN GOD’S SHOES (PT. 5)

It’s very important that we understand this thing about joy and happiness very well. Most times it is the missing link in our lives and in our walk with God. Most people want a miracle so they can be happy, wrong! They need to be happy to get a miracle. In His wisdom, God put signs of Himself in nature and in life, things that remind or point us to the truth.

One of such signs is what we speak of when we talk about waking up on the wrong side of the bed. Haven’t you noticed that when you wake up in the morning and go into the day feeling unhappy and gloomy bad things tend to happen more that day? It is the opposite when you wake up feeling happy and excited, your day keeps going great until something bad happens and gets you to give up your joy.

I am sure you know that God doesn’t do magic. Whatever He does is achieved by masterfully working the truth, the source code of reality which is The Word. The computer programmer can be likened to God, the computer language The Word and all the numerous computer applications the works of God. Whoever has the word can produce reality.

When God told Israel to march into battle against the armies of three nations armed with only a song of praise and musical instruments, He only wanted them to do something that will generate in them a river of joy. When He commanded them to march round the walls of Jericho and then blow their trumpets and give a shout of joy, the walls had no choice but to fall because they brought the walls right into the manifest presence of God where nothing but His glory can stand.

One of my earthly teachers, Poju Oyemade once said that if you can match the level of joy now in your heart with the level of joy you would have if what you want happens, you would have what you want. The joy of The Lord is a very powerful place my dears, it’s where you want to be, I’m very sure of it. The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. We will talk more about this tomorrow and then we will progress in our conversation to find out how to live in the joy of The Lord.
YOU ARE CHRIST.
