Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. (Joshua 1:6, 7 NKJV)
Do you think people fail because they couldn’t outperform their opponent? Why do you think that when people die we say they have given up the ghost? Have you ever consciously thought about the fact that just before you failed you decided in your mind to let go?
A few weeks back, under the help of the Spirit we were able to establish that “whoever wins in the mind wins in life.” The scriptures tell us that our strength is not according to the natural. It tells us that our battlefield is the mind and that our fundamental fight is with ideas and thoughts that struggle to establish themselves in our minds as superior to the ideas and thoughts from Christ.
(II Corinthians 10:3-5 NKJV)
Real strength is exercised in the mind in the form of belief or faith. Take a few moment to go over some events in your life that you remember well, did things turn out the way they did really because of what you did or did you do what you did because of what you knew? Guard your heart diligently for out of it flows the issues of life.
When God said to Joshua, “be strong and of good courage”… In the original Hebrew translation He is saying, “be alert and maintain a very firm grip on that…” What was God telling him to keep a firm grip on? If we read from verse one of Joshua we see that God was reminding Joshua of the promises made by God to Israel.
We did establish that the source code, the building blocks of reality is the word of God, and that nothing is stronger than the material from which it was made. So we said diamond cuts diamond. In life, we win or lose, fail or succeed, excercise weakness or strength not because of the things we do but because of the things we believe. What we do merely express what we believe. A man brings forth actions out of the abundance of what is in his heart. As a man thinks so he is.
My dearly beloved ones, since the building block of the reality we live in is the word of God, then real strength, real wisdom, real success, real victory, reality is to find the word of God and hold firmly unto it in faith, declaring it over your life and rejoicing in thanksgiving to God for it, refusing to give up that stand even in the face of contrary thoughts and ideas till your reality matches that word. That is how to grow in godliness and operate in God’s shoes. The reason we don’t get the result we expect from God’s word is because we give up too early. Be strong, hold firmly unto that word. That is real strength. See you tomorrow.
YOU ARE CHRIST.
