WHAT CALMNS YOUR HUNGER: WHAT SATISFIES YOUR THIRST? (Part Two)

Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. (John 6:54-56 NKJV)

Now, when we talk about food and water, we are concerned about something which is already living. So, it is taken for granted that these people already have the Spirit of God in them. In their hearts they have already accepted what the scriptures say about Christ to be true, they have somehow admitted this with their own mouths that Jesus is Lord of their lives and they have committed themselves to live true to that. Because of this, God has made them spiritually alive again by putting His Spirit into them. They are born again.

Our discussion therefore is how to sustain this life that we have received from God through Christ. When Jesus says “Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life”, in the original Greek He means “Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood holds on to eternal life.” That’s why He says that such a person abides(remains) in Me. It’s important at this point to remember what gave birth to us into this life in the first place; it is The Word of God. Because we believed the word that we heard, life came into us.

So, how do we, as incarnations of Christ keep feeding on the flesh of Jesus in order to keep this life that we have received from Him healthy and well-nourished till the day we are freed from the restraints of mortality? This is how; man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of The Lord. The flesh of Jesus is the word of God. We must eat it like our life depends on it, and indeed it does. The same way we approach physical food, we must approach the word of God that way, even more.

The life of God in you, this godliness that we’ve been talking about is fed, nourished and sustained by the word of God. There is a level of God-operation that you cannot participate in if you do not take the word of God serious in your life on a daily basis. You must read it, study it, meditate on it and speak it everyday. That determines how much spiritual nutrition you have in you for when you need to excercise yourself in godliness.

Let me ask you a very serious question, are you really feeding well, or are you spiritually malnourished? The scriptures say, if your strength fails on the day of adversity then your strength is small. Please feed well! Empower yourself to make your own destiny under God. Soak up more of God daily. Absord more and more of God everyday by reading and meditating on His word, so that when life squeezes, God comes out of you.
O LORD COME SOON!
