When it comes to commanding the will of God on earth, it must be done as God, not as man. We must speak with words instructed by the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. Being the Mastermind in the manifestation of God, the Holy Spirit works through the Word. When the scriptures speak of words which are taught by the wisdom of the Spirit, it speaks of the nature of what is said, not the grammar of what is said. When the scripture speaks of comparing spiritual things with spiritual, it speaks of the position from which the speaker speaks.
Consider this confessions, “all things work together for my good, the universe is conspiring on my behalf, therefore everyone and everything that has anything to do with the final decision on this contract will act in ways that favour me. Because of this I will win the bid for so and so contract.” When you say something like this, which is the “word of God” what do you really mean, who do you say it as and why do you believe it will happen. This is where many people miss it.
We need to understand that just repeating the scripture, or reciting it, or voicing it does not necessary mean you have spoken the “word of God” unto your situation. You may say the very same words that God said and yet not speak the “word of God”. This is what Paul is getting at when he said we speak with words which the Spirit teaches and compare spiritual things with spiritual. Remember we are discussing the mystery of godliness, and we said that godliness is the “imitation” of God in practice. In position it is being God himself, as much of Him that has been revealed to us.
Now, back to our confession above. If you made that confession because you have seen that your company is just too qualified compared to other companies bidding for the same contract, and so they don’t really stand a chance against you, then you have spoken the word of a man even though you borrowed your expression from God. Your words were informed by natural observation, by the wisdom of man. Do you get the idea?
If you made the confession and deep in your heart you are not really sure that what you are saying will happen, then you have spoken the word of a man. If it were God speaking He will be saying it as if it had already happened, with certainty. You have not matched spiritual things with spiritual. You were trying to speak like God, without “feeling” like God. Are you getting the picture?
It is all about God. The will is not ours but His, the words are not ours but His, and we must say them as Him not as us. For our words to produce the kind of results they should, they must come from His will and we must see ourselves “as God” when we say them. You are gods. That means you are ambassador Gods here on earth. And as an ambassador, even though you act fully as the president of your country in the foreign country you are sent to, you are still a servant of your home country and therefore under the control of your president. You only represent his interest not yours. Do it as He wants, and do it as if you are Him. That’s the key.
A note of warning before we delve into this fully; even though you are “God”, don’t “play God!” I hope you know the difference? Please let Christ teach you:
“None of you should look out just for your own good. You should also look out for the good of others. You should think in the same way Christ Jesus does. In his very nature he was God. But he did not think that being equal with God was something he should hold on to. Instead, he made himself nothing. He took on the very nature of a servant. He was made in human form. He appeared as a man. He came down to the lowest level. He obeyed God completely, even though it led to his death. In fact, he died on a cross. …(Philippians 2:4-8)
Now, you are ready to know what and what in practical terms you need to do in order to speak “like God”, but that will be tomorrow. See you tomorrow and have a “godly” day.
O LORD COME SOON!
