For those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a good standing and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus. (I Timothy 3:13 NKJV)
It is by practice. One of the major reasons why today in the body of Christ there is very little manifestation of the potential of the Christ in us and very little demonstration of the Spirit that we carry inside of us is because we make little or no effort at all to practice and develop these things. We talk ourselves into just believing and believing, and into just talk and plenty more talk. We believe this and we believe that, we make that confession and declare this other one, all the while doing practically nothing. We need to recover from the blindness that has been cast over the body of Christ by the enemy.
The scriptures say who is blind but my servant. These truths are out there in open sight and yet we are either not seeing them, or simply we don’t want to accept them. A nation that does not encourage its people to make personal effort is a nation that will soon be overrun by poverty. As Christians, once we do not embrace personal practice of the truths we see in the scriptures, we become spiritually poor. We produce very little if any results at all. Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. What that means is that He acted like God fully and acted like man fully. So when there was need for money for tax, as God, He by His words received the money from heaven, then as man He sent His disciples to fish.
Every man is born with muscles, but in order to develop those muscles one must constantly use them. If a man lies down all the time and makes no use of his muscles, after forty years, those muscles will be unable to lift an orange fruit, they’ll still be same as that of a child. Spiritual things are no different. To advance in them, to grow in the demonstration of the Spirit and the manifestation of the Christ, you must practice and practice and practice. THAT IS THE ONLY WAY! You cannot believe yourself into it, nobody ever has, it’s not in the bible that it can be so. It is by practice. You must make it happen by what you do, under the wisdom and guidance of the word of God. Anobody that tells you otherwise either doesn’t know or is deceiving you. A little sleep, a little folding of the hands and poverty shall pounce on you like an armed robber.
Because leaders are by nature required to be practicing Christians not just believing ones, look at all that is required of them, that is practical Christianity. Because of that, the bible says that those of them that serve well, those of them that are able to live that life of practical application of the truth, it says they, by their own doing, purchase to themselves, higher degrees in the faith and greater boldness in the things of the spirit. The truth is that, that kind of spiritual advancement is not reserved for leaders only, it is for those that practice the things of the spirit. A lot of the “poor” guys are the ones that are full of “faith”. A lot of the ones that are “rich” are the ones that appear to be “faithless” because they demonstrate their faith by the things they do. Which group do you want to belong to?
O LORD COME SOON!
