From 1 Timothy 1:8-11

But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust. (I Timothy 1:8-11 NKJV)

Don’t be controlled; be motivated from the inside. By rightly and faithfully applying the WORD with correct understanding, the regenerated man is though gradually but progressively matured in LOVE.

Our thoughts are cleaned, our feelings checked and our sense of right and wrong developed to the extent that our new found faith becomes something we are, where we do not need an external compulsion like a law to force us to do what is right.

The law is good if you understand why it exists and how to use it. When I was small. I got this new bicycle and I didn’t know how to ride it. It came with one extra pair of tyres for the sides, these were to be there on the bike till I learned to ride the bike without falling to the left or to the right. Then the side tyres will be removed.
That’s what the law does for you. Where you haven’t learnt to do what is right without being monitored, the law will be your side tyres keeping you in line until you learn to lead a righteous life.

The reason why the law of Moses and any kind of structured lifestyle is not necessary to keep the believer in line is because the foundation for all good things, which is love, is born and growing in him/her.
You my dear brothers and sisters are the “good” whose heart generate good intentions and right judgement, which in turn produce right living. That’s why you don’t have need of a law, because by default you have learnt to ride the bike of life without falling to the left or the right; you move straight!

So my dears, Those who are yet immature in love must be kept under the watchful eyes of the law and constant instruction by the word, until they learn by practice to differentiate good from evil. But it is beneath your state in life at this time to be controlled from the outside, get to be motivated from the inside. Be led by the Spirit. That’s what freedom is.
O LORD COME SOON.
